Keith Misner - EVP, Co-Head of Investment Sales - Berkadia

Keith Misner is Executive Vice President, Co-Head of Investment Sales and a member of Berkadia’s Management Committee. In this role, he is responsible for accelerating the growth of the firm’s national investment sales platform and coordination of all operating aspects, including recruiting. Mr. Misner has more than 30 years of national commercial real estate experience with success in investment sales, asset management and development aspects in both public and private owner/investor firms and major service providers.

In 2021, Berkadia Investment Sales had a record-breaking year with volume totaling $27 billion, across 762 total transactions.

Since 2013, our investment sales division has closed nearly 4,200 transactions totaling $82 billion.

Prior to Berkadia, Mr. Misner served as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Abacus Capital Group LLC for the newly established Abacus Core Investment Fund I LP. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Transactions at AIMCO, the Denver-based nationally active REIT. During his career, Mr. Misner has also worked in senior leadership roles at Grubb & Ellis, CBRE, and Cushman & Wakefield where from 2003 to 2010, he was a national leader.

 

John Burns - Chief Executive Officer - John Burns Real Estate Consulting

John Burns founded John Burns Real Estate Consulting in 2001 to help business executives make the most informed housing industry investment decisions possible. His team of PALS (Passionate, Articulate, Likable and Smart people) in offices all over the country advise the company’s research subscribers and consulting clients on shifts in housing demand, supply, and affordability, as well as consumer, building products and design trends.

The firm has developed a number of proprietary tools, including risk and valuation indices, DesignLens™, the New Home Trends Institute, and even trademarked the term surban™ upon release of their best-selling demographics book, Big Shifts Ahead: Demographic Clarity for Businesses.

John has a Bachelors in Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA, and works in our Irvine, California office. He has served on numerous industry boards and more than 750,000 people follow him on LinkedIn, and 23,000 subscribe to his free weekly emails. He has attended home games for all 30 major league baseball teams, and enjoys running in the hills in Southern California.

 

Jeff Coles - Vice President, Client Services - Berkadia

Jeff Coles is Vice President of Client Services at Berkadia. In this role, Jeff works with Dori Nolan, Senior Vice President of Client Services, in growing Berkadia's business relationships with current and new institutional clients, helping them to better understand the full potential of Berkadia's suite of services and resources. Jeff joined Berkadia in 2017 as Senior Director with DC Metro Multifamily Investment Sales. Prior to joining Berkadia, Mr. Coles has been involved in the sale and marketing of more than $5 billion of multifamily transactions.

In addition to his day-to-day work on the sales side, Jeff is also an active member of the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), where he serves on their Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is a member of The Real Estate Executive Council (REEC), a leading trade organization formed to promote the interests of minority executives in commercial real estate. Additionally, he is an active volunteer with the newly developed DC Dream Center, a $4.2 million community-based center providing mentorship, personal development and legal support for underprivileged residents of Washington, DC.
